RT Work Equipment - Part 2



KP0554-CTA #S-300 at Logan Square - 04/30/1950
The S-300 was originally built by SSRT as a flat car in 1898, then rebuilt to this derrick car by CRT in the 1940s.

KP0556-CTA #S-300 at Lower 63rd Yard - 03/10/1973




KP0557-CTA #S-300 at River Road having been rebuilt as a Clearanve Test Car - 01/16/1983




KP0558-CTA #S-304 at 56th on the Douglas Line - 02/08/1953
The S-304 (x#3135) went into work service 08/1951, scrapped 06/1953.




KP0558-CTA #S-305 at 56th on the Douglas Line - 02/08/1953
The S-305 (x#3136) went into work service 08/1951, scrapped 06/1953.




KP0560-CTA #S-306 at Skokie - 07/10/1952
The S-306 was scrapped 09/1952.




KP0561-CTA #S-308 at Skokie - 02/11/1956
S-308 (x#2717) was fitted with a test snowblower at the far end of the car, but the test was eventually deemed unsucessful. It was scrapped 08/1957.




KP0562-CTA #S-309 at Forest Park - 09/26/1962
S-309 was originally built by CCRy as C-30 in 1908, then it was CSL/CTA work car W-223 before moving over to the Rapid Transit Division.

Wheel car S-313 was converted from car #3145




KP0564-CTA #S-314 at 63rd St Lower Yard - 01/08/1976
S-314 was converted from Surface Division car W-301 in 1953, which was originally built by CCRy in 1907.




KP0565-CTA #S-314 at Skokie - 11/12/1977
At this point, it was converted to be compatable with 6000-series work motors.
