KP1024-CTA Skokie, Brand new third rail installed near Crawford. Behind the rail are potheads which as the cable terminations for the power section and provide connection to the third rail in this area. 90lb. rail is used for the third rail. This particular section near Crawford had experimental aluminum third rail with the wear stip on top made of steel. This combination proved to have arcing issues and was replaced after the short testing period. - 09/05/2004
